When we moved into our new store we had a huge building project ahead of us so I got busy  on bids for the all we needed.  We decided to do the work ourselves so we could save some money (not always a good idea) and our good friends at Lowes came in with the best prices.

This was my first job as construction foreman and I was determined to finish this project on time.  For days I sat and figured the list of materials we needed. How much paint it would take, when the electrician needed to come, the lists were endless. It was a very lonely job until a little bit of fame started coming my way.

It seemed as though I was in Lowes everyday getting something.  After three weeks we had bought over 2000 pieces of plywood, almost 400 gallons of paint; 8000 feet of baseboard and trim; 100,000 nails and 200 tubes of caulking.  Then one day things began to change.  We walked in to Lowes wearing our Woodstock Market shirts as we had many times before, but that day was different.

The construction process!

The result? A new showroom (and this is just one of our 125 amazing dealers)!

You could see people looking over at us, whispering, anxiously waiting for us to walk towards there department.  It was as if the waters parted and we had become do it yourself royalty.  Yes we were famous. big fish in our little pond.  We were given t-shirts, key chains, Frisbees, paint samples, you name it.  Yes, for those eight weeks we were on top of the world. We had experienced celebrity for the first time.  Then as quickly as it came, it vanished.  The building project was over and we returned to our regular lives.

Those eight weeks were wonderful and life-changing.  We could feel the gang at Lowes cheering us on as we dared going for it with our build out ourselves.  Many of the employees from Lowes came by to view store progress and continue to visit us today.  We began Phase II of our building project this past January and once again for four short weeks (we had gotten faster by now) we tasted glory once again.  So, thanks Lowes for making us feel so very appreciated & special.
